PrSt Symphonie

Schöne Symphonie is an imported mare from Germany and came to us in late 2004 after she had already acquired quite an impressive list as a show horse, both in hand and under saddle.

Born in Bavaria in Germany at world famous Gestüt Schralling (home of Olympic medalist Peron TSF), she won a Ib prize as a 2yr old at the Bavarian State Mare Show in 2001. A year later she returned to the Central Inspection of the Trakehner Verband and was proclaimed "Champion" with score of 7,8,7.5/8,8,8/8. She was selected to participate at the National Mare Championships in Neumünster in 2002 and was an elite auction horse at the Trakehner Verband Leverkusen Spring Meeting in 2003, where we were able to buy her.

She began her under saddle career in Bavaria with our friend and partner Maren Engelhardt, and placed in material classes as well as Young Dressage Horse classes at 1st level with scores up to 70% - as a barely 4yr old with less than 6 months riding under her belt! Symphonie also competed at the International Trakehner Bundesturnier in Bonn-Rodderberg in 2004 and passed an excellent Mare Performance Test at the Equidome in Kreuth, Bavaria later that year.

The combination of her inspection scores and her MPT scores made her officially a "Trakehner Verband Premium Mare", which we recognize by adding "PrSt" for the German "Prämien Stute" to her name.

Symphonie arrived Christmas Day 2003, and was bred to Tzigane in April 2004. In mrach 2005, she produced the spectacular colt Sam the Man. A year later, she produced his full sister Sayydia.

The family:

Symphonie's sire Polarpunkt is a popular stallion in Germany, whose offspring include dressage horses at FEI levels (e.g. the approved Hanoverian stallion Peach Pit). Polarpunkt has produced many well-received mares, and the approved stallions Opernball (premium, Level 7 show jumper), Elfengeist (Champion NMS 2002), Glenn Livit F (ATA), Ichi-Ban (ATA), Checkpoint (premium), and of course, Symphonie's full brother, the Inter I dressage stallion Showtime. Polarpunkt's sire is the tremendously influential EH Arogno, a full brother to the ATA's Avignon II. Arogno was ablr to establish several very strong branches of the big Flaneur-line in the breed, among them the popular Karon - EH Caprimond - EH Hohenstein line and the internationally reputed branch of EH Partout - EH Monteverdi TSF with his son Oliver Twist and most recent grand son, NMS champion Grand Passion. The Arogno sons Schwadroneur, Giorgio Armani, Wakond, Traumdeuter and EH Napoleon Quatre were all successful FEI dressage horses. Polarpunkt's dam carries equally important foundation lines: her sire Habicht is probably the breed's most versatile and proven sport horse sire of all times and second dam sire Waldzauber established the excellent Arsenl - Camelot - Gipsy King line in the breed.

Symphonie's mother is the Trakehner Verband Elite mare Schöner Tag, whose production record is nothing short of spectacular. She is the dam of:

Symphonie's mare family of Schwarze Schwalbe originated at Gestüt Webelsgrund, but had its strongest influence through Gestüt Hämeleschenburg. From close maternal relation, the stallions Stradivari, Showmaster, Schwadroneur, Sans Souci, Santiago, Seigneur (ATA), Shavalou and Songline resulted, among others, and had and continue to have significant influence on the modern Trakehner breed.

We think we truly are lucky to have a mare of Symphonie's caliber, quality and hilarious personality in our barn and we are looking forward to many more foals from her in the years to come.
